On July 12, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers N. Amannepesov reported on the work done in the first half of this year in the spheres of education, science, health and sports, TDH reports.
During this time, students have won a total of 156 gold, 242 silver and 339 bronze medals in international competitions, including the Internet Olympiads.
Deputy Prime Minister said that at present the works on the provision of laptops, which will be donated to the pupils of the 1st grades in the new school year, are being finalized.
During the current season of summer vacations 11 thousand children will have a rest in children's health centers of Gokdere, Avaza and velayats.
As noted, various surgeries and treatment of sick children have been carried out at the expense of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. The Foundation donated hemodialysis equipment to the country's health care institutions.
During the meeting it was noted that for six months of this year Turkmen athletes won 122 gold, 103 silver and 136 bronze medals.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed B. Orazdurdyeva as the new Deputy Prime Minister for Science, Education, Health, Sports, Youth and Public Affairs, relieving her of her post as Minister of Education.
J. Gurbangeldiev, who previously served as rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was appointed to the post of Minister of Education.
The head of state appointed G. Yusupova as rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relieving her of the post of vice-rector for academic affairs of this institution of higher education.
O. Ovezsakhadov was appointed as the new head of the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has appointed B. Mammedov, who previously served as pro-rector of the Yagshygeldi Kakaev International University of Oil and Gas, as rector of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction.
Wishing success to the appointed new leaders, the head of Turkmenistan signed the relevant documents.
The head of state also signed orders on approval of the plan of admission to higher and secondary vocational educational institutions of Turkmenistan in 2024, on approval of the composition of the State Commission for admission to higher and secondary vocational educational institutions, as well as on approval of the plan of admission of students to the Academy of Public Service under the President of Turkmenistan in 2024-2025 academic year. The head of state wished success to young Turkmenistanis wishing to study.
Then the new Deputy Prime Minister and the heads of the institutions of this sphere outlined priority tasks. Among them are proper preparation for the new school year, renovation of secondary and higher educational institutions, admission of the most talented and worthy representatives of the young generation to universities, organized and fair conduct of entrance examinations. Improvement of educational programs and plans, supplying schools with textbooks and manuals in sufficient quantity were also identified as priorities.
In continuation, the head of Turkmenistan pointed to the need to provide high quality services in the country's medical institutions and to organize official trips to improve the qualifications of doctors. It was also emphasized that appropriate measures should continue to be taken to further develop the pharmaceutical industry and provide the population with sufficient quantities of quality medicines and health care products.
