President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has set the date for the first session of the renewed parliament after the March 26 elections. It will be held on April 6 this year. At the first session of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the seventh convocation deputies will elect the speaker of the parliament. This is reported by the state news agency "Turkmenistan Today".

The President emphasized the importance of the early start of lawmaking activities of the renewed Mejlis. The first session will be held at the Center of Public Organizations in the capital. It will recognize the powers of the elected deputies of the renewed parliament.
