UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan arrived in Lebap province on the Aral Sea project issues

UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Sahakyan made the first working visit to Lebap province on the Aral Sea project. This is reported in the UNDP press release.

The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by the United Nations Development Program together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.
On the first day of the trip Narine Sahakyan met with the leadership of Lebap velayat on the implementation of the Aral project and other issues related to the development of the region and achievement of sustainable development for the period until 2030.

The next day UNDP representative took part in the National Seminar on Water Diplomacy and Development of Interstate Cooperation among the Aral Sea Basin countries. The seminar participants were also familiarized with current activities of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
