Preparations are underway for the upcoming meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty in Turkmenistan

On July 18, 2023, under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a meeting of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan was held to discuss preparations for the upcoming session of the Khalk Maslakhaty and celebration of Independence Day. The Presidium reviewed the implementation of socio-economic development tasks outlined by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and preparations for the national congress of "Khalk Maslakhaty" to be held later this year.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the important role of Halk Maslakhaty in promoting reforms, implementing development programs and meeting the needs of Turkmen citizens.

During the meeting, the date, venue, organizing committee and the procedure for electing representatives to Halk Maslakhaty were determined. Resolutions on convocation of the body and approval of the Council of Elders of Halk Maslakhaty were adopted.

The Presidium meeting marks the official start of preparations for the large-scale public event, which will be attended by representatives of all regions of Turkmenistan. The Khalk Maslakhaty acts as an advisory body in discussing key issues of state policy. The upcoming meeting will be timed to coincide with the celebration of Turkmenistan's Independence Day.
