President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian held telephone talks on June 5, 2025 at the initiative of the Iranian side. The Heads of State exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the holy holiday Kurban Bayrami.
The Iranian leader emphasized the importance for his country of developing friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Turkmenistan. Pezeshkian conveyed greetings to the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Iranian President praised Turkmenistan's initiative to declare 2025 the UN "International Year of Peace and Trust", emphasizing the peacemaking nature of the republic's foreign policy.
In the course of the conversation, the interlocutors noted the many thousands of years of relations between the peoples of the two countries, united by common historical and cultural roots. The sides confirmed the consistent development of trade, economic and cultural ties.
The heads of state expressed readiness to continue joint work to strengthen friendship and expand mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and Iran.
Concluding the conversation, the presidents wished each other good health, happiness and success in state activity, as well as peace, well-being and prosperity to the peoples of both countries.
