UNDP to present in Turkmenistan the concept of development of landlocked African countries

The Civil Society Forum continued its work in the format of thematic sessions

Avaza, August 6 - Arzuw.news. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will hold a press briefing on the margins of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries to present a new concept of development of African states in this category. Arzuw.news reports citing a source.

The event will be held tomorrow, August 7, at 12:30 pm at the LLDC3 Conference Center in Awaza. The speaker will be Dr. Samuel Doe, UNDP Resident Representative in Ethiopia.

The new concept positions landlocked African countries as strategically important "land hubs". According to the UNDP approach, these states can use their central location and regional connectivity to boost trade and economic growth.

UNDP has prepared a concept note with a plan to transform landlocked African countries into dynamic, integrated economies. The document emphasizes the need for reform, investing in infrastructure and fostering innovation as key drivers of inclusive growth.

In the context of the development of the African Continental Free Trade Area, landlocked African states are becoming an integral part of the socio-economic transformation of the continent.
