Turkmenistan planted 3 million tree seedlings under the National Forest Program

As part of the National Forest Program for 2021-2025, 3 million saplings of different species will be planted in the country this year by order of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This is reported by Centralasia.news.

Turkmen desert scientist Muhammed Durikov highly appreciates the possibilities of the greening program. The expert said that planting saplings will contribute to combating land degradation and desertification. Also, this program complies with the goals of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification and the National Action Program to Combat Desertification.

Hundreds of kilometers of forest plantations have been created in Turkmenistan, which helps to solve the problems of climate instability and create an optimal microclimate, as well as has a favorable impact on the environment and preserves biodiversity.
