Turkmenistan held an international forum on energy and diplomacy on December 1. The conference opened with with a welcoming message from the head of Turkmenistanwhich was read out by the deputy head of the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Meredov. The event, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the country's neutrality, was organized by "Turkmengaz" and "Turkmennebit" together with the "Turkmen Forum.
The energy forum brought together representatives of 59 companies from 33 countriesThe participants were about 50% in the online mode. Among the guests were the leaders of the leading companies in the market: PETRONAS, SOCAR, CNPC, Dragon Oil, and LUKOIL. In addition, representatives of world organizations and the Asian Development Bank were present. At the forum Louis Bertrand Rafecas, Secretary General of the International Gas Union, spoke for the first timeThe first of these is a group of 71 states.
International and domestic experts considered the issues of intensifying cooperation in the energy industry. Among the issues voiced at the meeting: the role of transnational pipelines in energy security and development, natural gas perspectives on the pandemicThe participants discussed the importance of the Energy Charter Treaty and partnership in field development. During the working sessions, participants discussed Turkmenistan's energy diplomacy, energy cooperation of our country with the EU, the investment potential of Turkmenistan and other issues. The forum also included meetings with the country's top oil and gas executives.
