Turkmenistan intends to modernize the chemical plant "Maryazot" in order to increase production volumes. This will make it possible to fully cover the needs of the local agro-industrial complex in ammonium nitrate and refuse from its import.
At a recent online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Turkmen Deputy Chairman for Construction, Industry and Energy Ch. Purchekov informed Serdar Berdymukhamedov about the measures being taken to modernize the chemical plant.
The President of Turkmenistan stressed the importance of implementing the program of re-equipment of enterprises of the chemical sector in order to provide local agricultural lands with fertilizers. He noted that systematic work should be carried out now in order to fully replace imports in the near future.
The Maryazot plant belongs to the national concern "Turkmenhimiya". Currently, the plant produces ammonium nitrate, ammonia, nitric acid, liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, polypropylene bags, soda ash and iron sulfate.
