Traditions of ritual games are revived in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan is reviving the traditions of ritual games and amusements during the celebration of national events. This is reported by the Internet edition "AsmanNews.

The national games of Novruz occupy a special place in the life of the Turkmen people. The meeting of Novruz is accompanied by performances, equestrian competitions, fights of alabays, games of chovgan, a show of tightrope walkers, demonstration of skills of palvans.

Some of the traditional games are "yaglyk atdy", carols, "yaglyga tovusmak". Among girls the game "monjuk atdy" - fortune-telling on beads - is popular. Old wedding games and rituals are successfully revived. Among them are "yuzuk-yuzuk", "keche-keche", which are played by both young people and elders.
Modern holidays do not do without such games as "Ayterek-gunterek", "Chilik", "Chovgan", "Altyn gapak", "Guiruk tutdy", "Dengene", "Geshdek", "Yaglyk atdy".
