Turkmen-Chinese meeting on Afghanistan held

On February 23, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov met with Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China for Afghanistan Yue Xiaoyong. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides noted the productivity of bilateral cooperation as well as interaction in the format of foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring countries on the issues of economic recovery and political stability in Afghanistan.

The Turkmen side considers peace building in Afghanistan in three main directions - in political, economic and socio-humanitarian spheres. Also during the meeting, the need to search for new opportunities to ensure peace and security in the region, in particular by countering terrorism, was expressed.
