Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan meets with UNODC Regional Representative of Turkmenistan

A meeting between the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Regional Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Ashita Mittal was held in the building of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan on June 11, 2024. The interlocutors discussed the continuation of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNODC in the implementation of the Organization's projects related to the prevention of illicit drug trafficking. The parties reached agreements on holding a joint event in the context of the UNODC GA declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" at the initiative of Turkmenistan.

The importance of the ongoing 9th Annual Meeting of Customs Heads was also emphasized, which contributes to enhancing border security and strengthening customs cooperation between countries.
