Deputy Head of the ICRC Regional Representation in Central Asia was interviewed in Turkmenistan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a conversation between Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova and Deputy Head of the ICRC Regional Office in Central Asia Jacques Barberis. This is reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation and further prospects for the development of cooperation in various areas between Turkmenistan and the International Committee of the Red Cross. The interlocutors emphasized the importance of joint work to increase the capacity of the ICRC's regional partners in the field of international humanitarian law. In this regard, the importance of expanding work with young people was emphasized.

The Turkmen side expressed appreciation for the active dissemination of knowledge on International Humanitarian Law by the ICRC in the country.
