The 74th session of the Executive Committee of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees is taking place in Geneva from October 9 to 13. The head of the Turkmen delegation, Chairman of the State Migration Service A. Sazakov, made a speech during the session. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The Turkmen delegation emphasized the importance of close contacts with UNHCR on issues related to protection and provision of necessary conditions for refugees and asylum seekers.
The 74th session reviewed the provisional agenda for the 75th session of the Executive Committee and topics related to the election of officers. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, made opening remarks, commenting on the current situation and outlining the challenges facing UNHCR.
