Strengthening ties between the OSCE and Turkmenistan toward expanding the "green ports" project in the Caspian Sea provides an opportunity to make exports of goods from Central Asia to Europe as expeditious and safe as possible, as well as meeting high European environmental requirements.
OSCE members expressed the hope that strengthening the partnership on the flagship project "promoting the development of green ports" would contribute to the state's stable economic growth.
The project has been underway since 2019 with the active participation of the EBRD, UNECE and major business experts. It aims to effectively address foreign trade issues in the countries of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the Caspian Sea.
Under the project, the activities of the seaports of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan will be automated and digitized.
