Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the first GCC-CA summit in Jeddah

Today, July 19, the first ever meeting of leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Central Asia countries was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss ways to develop cooperation between the two regions. Turkmenistan was represented at the summit by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This is reported by the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan.

The summit, which was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, was attended by leaders from all six GCC countries and five Central Asian countries.

The summit agenda included such topics as the development of mutually beneficial multilateral cooperation, trade, investment, energy, security and counter-terrorism.

At the end of the summit, a joint statement was adopted in which the leaders of the GCC and Central Asian countries pledged to "strengthen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest".

The statement also called for the establishment of a permanent mechanism for dialog and cooperation between the two regions.

The summit is seen as an important step forward in the development of relations between the GCC and Central Asia.

The two regions have a long history of trade and cultural exchange, and the summit is seen as an opportunity to build on this foundation and create a more prosperous and secure future for both regions.

The GCC is a regional bloc of Gulf states consisting of six countries: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.

Central Asia is a region consisting of five countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
