Turkmenistan and Tajikistan Foreign Ministers hold talks

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin met in Turkmenistan on July 15. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the inter-ministerial consultation, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation in political-diplomatic, cultural-humanitarian, trade and economic spheres.

High-level visits are of particular importance in expanding political interaction.
The sides noted the effective interaction between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan in the multilateral format, including within the UN framework.

The Turkmen side noted that Tajikistan is one of the most significant trade partners of the country. The important role of the intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical partnership was emphasized.

The sides also noted the need to develop cooperation in cultural exchanges, education, science and sports.
