On February 27, 2024, a Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov arrived in Tehran to participate in the 16th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Consular, Border and Customs Affairs. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Iranian delegation was headed by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Alireza Bikdeli. During the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the previous meeting of the commission held in February 2023 in Ashgabat. The necessity of obligatory fulfillment of the previously reached agreements was noted.
The issues on the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation were also considered. The final protocol was signed at the end of the meeting.
