Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held a joint online training course

The Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology and the Turkmen Agricultural Institute held a joint online training "Use of GIS-technologies in making soil maps of irrigated areas". This was reported by the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The training was led by Shatlyk Pygamov, Head of the Department of Agricultural Land Reclamation of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute. The participants of the trainings were representatives of two universities - teachers and students.

During the event, participants discussed the possibilities of GIS technologies in creating soil maps. GIS technology can help reduce costs by identifying the most productive parts of fields and areas requiring additional care. GIS technology can also be used for precision farming, crop forecasting, monitoring livestock movements and other purposes.
