Turkmenistan and the Republic of Honduras officially established diplomatic relations. The signing ceremony of the relevant communiqué took place on June 12, 2025 in New York at the office of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN.
The document was signed by Aksoltan Ataeva, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, and Mary Elizabeth Flores, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Honduras to the UN. Prior to the ceremony, the diplomats held a bilateral meeting.
During the talks, the sides expressed mutual interest in strengthening friendly ties. Turkmenistan and Honduras agreed to develop bilateral cooperation in political, economic and humanitarian spheres.
The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the coordination of actions on international platforms, first of all within the framework of the United Nations.
Following the ceremony, the diplomats congratulated the governments and peoples of both countries on the establishment of official relations between Turkmenistan and Honduras.
