The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted talks on strengthening bilateral partnership between Ashgabat and Beijing. On June 5, Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov met with Lei Siwei, Deputy Governor of the People's Government of China's Gansu Province.
The development of humanitarian ties between the two countries was the central topic of the talks. The diplomats emphasized the special role of science, education, culture and art in strengthening friendly relations between the Turkmen and Chinese peoples.
The participants of the meeting noted the positive dynamics in the educational sphere. The number of schoolchildren and students studying Chinese is growing in Turkmenistan, and the number of Turkmen students in Chinese universities continues to increase.
The sides highly assessed the current level of the Turkmen-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership, noting their dynamic development in various areas.
At the end of the talks, the diplomats expressed mutual willingness to further enhance fruitful long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China.
