Turkmenistan has provided its territory for transit of foreign diplomats and citizens leaving Iran in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East. This was reported by the state authorities of the republic.
About 120 people have already crossed the Turkmen-Iranian border through official checkpoints. Among the evacuees are citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Romania and other states.
The Turkmen authorities provided the arrivals with vehicles, food and accommodation in hotels. All evacuees were provided with basic necessities.
Turkmen State bodies are coordinating their actions with diplomatic missions of foreign States and international organizations as part of the humanitarian operation.
The official representatives emphasized that these measures reflect Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of humanity and international cooperation. These actions are particularly relevant in the context of the International Year of Peace and Confidence, which was declared by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of the Turkmen side.
