Turkmen Ambassador to Belgium Sapar Palvanov took part in the historic first informal meeting of the ambassadors of Central Asia, Mongolia and the Caribbean. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online publication.
The purpose of the meeting was to share experience in expanding interregional trade and economic cooperation and sectoral partnerships. The sides noted the similarity of views of the Central Asian and Caribbean countries on international security issues.
Speaking on behalf of the Caribbean, Jamaica's Ambassador to Belgium, Simone Betton-Nayo, emphasized the willingness to share experiences in the effective development of climate, innovation, humanitarian and trade partnerships.
The Turkmen side expressed its commitment to support and strengthen cooperation in this format. The meeting addressed the issues of visa regime, increasing the number of flights and expanding the geography of flights. The sides touched upon tourism, education, digitalization, cultural and humanitarian interaction and strengthening democratic foundations.
