The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Governor of St. Petersburg

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a meeting with St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and major regions of the Russian Federation. The cultural and humanitarian sphere was named one of the important areas of bilateral partnership. The interlocutors noted the prospects for cooperation in culture, science and education.

In addition, the sides discussed the possibility of holding joint cultural and festive events on the occasion of the upcoming 300th anniversary of Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
The interlocutors also touched upon the prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the northern capital of Russia in the trade and economic sphere.
