Meredov discussed the TAPI project and digital cooperation at the Central Asia-India Business Council

On June 5, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov took part in a meeting of the Central Asia-India Business Council, which focused on the development of energy partnership and digital economy.

The central issue on the agenda was the discussion of the TAPI gas pipeline (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) as the flagship energy project of the region. The participants considered its role in shaping the energy, transportation and logistics infrastructure of Central Asia.

The Turkmen Foreign Minister noted the importance of the work of the Business Council and called for active use of its potential to expand bilateral cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on investment prospects in the transport and logistics sector.

The parties discussed opportunities for joint participation in transportation projects that are in line with initiatives to develop North-South transport and transit corridors. This direction is considered a priority for strengthening trade and economic ties between the regions.

The participants paid special attention to the prospects of systemic cooperation in the field of innovation. The discussion focused on high technologies, artificial intelligence and the development of digital platforms as a basis for modernizing economic relations.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed confidence that the agreements reached will serve as a basis for concrete steps in the development of mutually beneficial partnership in various areas of cooperation.
