On June 16, 2025, Chairperson of the Mejlis Durdygul Gulmanova accepted credentials from the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to Turkmenistan Alenka Suhadolnik on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
On behalf of the Head of State, the Speaker of the Mejlis congratulated the diplomat on the appointment to the responsible post and expressed wishes for success in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Ambassador thanked for the kind words and conveyed greetings from the leadership of Slovenia to President Berdimuhamedov and wished wellbeing to the Turkmen people.
During the meeting, the diplomat familiarized herself with the main directions of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy. It was noted that the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the countries of the world, especially European states, remains a priority of the country's peace-loving foreign policy strategy.
The parties emphasized the importance of intensifying the dialogue between Turkmenistan and Slovenia in various spheres. The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the constructive meeting and assured that she would make every effort to further develop friendly relations between the two countries.
