Turkmen Foreign Minister meets with IDB President

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with President of the Islamic Development Bank Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasser on September 20. This is reported on the website Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to build up long-term partnership. The parties noted that Turkmenistan has been a member of the Bank for three decades. During this time, the IDB has assisted in financing more than 20 projects in the spheres of energy, health care and communications.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance and necessity of developing a Partnership Strategy for Turkmenistan. The prospects for cooperation between the IDB and banks and the private sector of Turkmenistan in the development of small and medium-sized businesses were noted.
